The firm’s Apollo Big Brake Kit and all-new SR sintered race pads will feature on the hot hatches competing in the series
Having worked closely with the BRSCC (British Racing and Sports Car Club) recently (in the form of product development and acting as Technical Braking Partner to the Fiesta Championship’s ST240 Class), ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Racing is pleased to confirm it has now also become the Technical Braking Partner to the all-new BMW 1 Series SuperCup championship.
The BRSCC reached out to the Northampton-based braking firm after the successes it received with the aforementioned Fiesta ST240 class, tasking ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Racing to next develop a setup specifically for its upcoming SuperCup series.
Following extensive development, the result is a bespoke 330mm Apollo Competition Big Brake Kit that comes with high-performance multi-piston calipers, stainless steel pistons, a hard-anodised finish, two-piece fully-floating discs and braided lines as standard. This setup is complemented with ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Racing’s all-new SR-11 sintered race brake pads (as well as Bluestuff pads for the rear axle).
Cars in the BMW 1 Series SuperCup will be based on the popular F20/F21 1.6 turbo models, aimed to appeal to drivers attracted to racing in a tightly controlled, single-make series based on a modern and sophisticated rear-wheel drive vehicle.
For the 2022 race season, series will race in its own class in the BRSCC ClubSport Trophy, before being handed its own stand-alone one-model grid in 2023.
