Kal Fortner is using ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s sintered brake pads on his Mercedes track car

Kal Fortner is competing in the 2026 season of Gridlife in the USA, using his Mercedes AMG GTS as weapon of choice.

The driver is utilising ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance motorsport brake pads to ensure stopping power is optimal in his super-coupe.

Following podiums in Carolina and Atlanta, alongside another SR-21™-equipped driver, Eric ‘Dewey’ DeWitt, Fortner next visited Michigan’s Gingerman Raceway for Gridlife Midwest, with more top results secured across the weekend.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“Coming off of another strong showing at Gridlife Atlanta with a double podium in Streetmod for ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ, I was feeling all the momentum and all the confidence heading into my 10th Gridlife Midwest, the event that started it all for me! The energy at Gridlife Midwest is just unmatched in every way, from the massive crowds to the festival vibes throughout the weekend, it’s always been my favourite event making a podium here just that much more meaningful. This is Gridlife’s Indy 500.”

“This weekend proved to me more of a challenge that I could have ever expected though. Right at the first corner of the very first session, my ABS failed, making each braking zone incredibly challenging. While racing a car designed without ABS is relatively straightforward, racing one without it that’s designed to have it is nothing short of dangerous.”

“Because of this, I was far off of the pace I needed to be fighting at the front, and potentially too far off to even put it in the top-5 for the podium sprint. I knew that if I wanted a podium, I needed to give it my absolute everything to at the very least make it into the sprint in order to give us the chance to fix our ABS issues, and I was able to do just that! Modulating my SR-21™ pads and focusing on perfecting each and every braking zone, I got us into the sprint by just over a second! This gave us a full day to chase whatever electrical issue was causing our problems. Thankfully, Gridlife is a paddock full of the most helpful people, and after getting help from a couple mechanics on a Rush SR team, we found the blown fuse, and the ABS was back to working as it should!

“Come Sunday, I knew what I had to do, and now that I could actually lean into the full potential of my ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ brakes, I knew I could give it my everything to go for my third podium in a row for the season! Although I missed out on second place due to fuel cuts from the car getting little too hot waiting in the pits from an incident on track, I was able to secure third, and with Eric Dewitt in first, this was yet another double podium for ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ! After such a challenging event, to be able to come home with a podium is something I’ll forever be grateful for. Next up we’ve got Watkins Glen, one of my favourite tracks and a place that the Mercedes really shines at! The last time we were there, not only did I set the Streetmod record, I was also able to get the overall record! I’m so hyped to see what we can do this time!â€

Scott Stone uses ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ components on his Yamaha R1

Retford-based Scott Stone is competing in No Limits Racing’s Pirelli Super Series 1000cc Power Trophy across 2026 on his Yamaha R1, aiming to achieve solid results throughout the year.

Stone relies on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’ GPFAX (front axle) and Double-H Sintered (rear axle) brake pads to help giving him a fighting chance of achieving some of the fastest lap times on the grid.

Following promising results at the previous Donington Park round, we next caught up with Stone fresh off the back of his Brands Hatch outing, which proved to be an equally positive weekend for the team.

Read how the race meeting unfolded in Stone’s own words below…

Test Day

“Hot, and I mean hot! We didn’t get many laps in; lots of stoppages, a lack of marshals and the notorious Brands catching riders out.

“For a change, I didn’t need many laps. I felt I was riding well and enjoyed lapping in the 1:32 mark with little effort, while working a few things out when I got some space.â€

Qualifying (P15 on Grid)

“In the first qualifying session, I was near the front and had got myself some space with a tow from fast lads. I thought ‘perfect’, only for the session to be red-flagged coming on to our 3rd lap. I do hope Jack Morgan makes a full recovery – that was big.

“Called back after a long stoppage and, knowing I would be mid-pack, did a Wilf Turner trick and went out at the back. With the track to myself, I managed a 1:32.4, which I was ok with. Would have liked a little more, but still trying to build up the pace and work out what grip we had. Due to all the stoppages our race was moved to Sunday, meaning we had a busy day ahead with 3 races.â€

Race 1 (P17/10th in Class)

“A very poor start and then got boxed-in badly at Paddock Hill and Druids, losing a good few places. I quickly got my act together and moved back up to P17 by the end of Lap 1, but was at the back of a train of five riders. Getting used to the pace, I was looking to make up a couple more places, but we were too close together. By the time I had worked a few things out it was the chequered flag. We ran a good pace and I had a good feeling with the bike so was keen to try again in Race 2.â€

Race 2 (P12/8th in Class)

“Starting 16th on the grid, I was now on the outside, which I prefer at Brands. This time I ripped off the line, got stuck in and made passes around the outside of Paddock Hill Bend then inside at Druids with inches to spare. I found myself on the back of Liam Murtagh, who is riding strongly this year. I tried to pass him into Surtees, but wasn’t quite close enough. Ran with Liam for a few laps doing 1.31’s until he edged away from me. As the gap gradually widened, I was being chased by Jamie Boyce and Steven Duncan so had to kept it tidy to hold my position until the end. Great race and pleased to run consistent 1:31s all race and matched my PB from last year at 1:31.2.â€

Race 3 (P10/8th in Class)

“Made tweaks to the bike to help with the better pace and go! Great start again.

“Pretty much the same start though Steven Duncan joined the party this time. Duncan made a brave pass on Liam into Hawthornes and I had the best view in the house. My bike was even better in this one so no excuses and I managed a PB of 1:31.0 to close the little gap they had. Then spent six laps trying to get past the fastest Kawasaki I have ever seen, while Liam was trying to get past Duncan again. I thought I was going to get two for the price of one at Druids, but wasn’t sure if Liam could see me as he came back onto the racing line. I had a nibble at Graham Hill Bend to which he chopped my nose off. Duncan now had a few bike lengths on us so back to working out Liam again.

“I felt strong and thought if I can pass Liam I might just get a chance on the last lap to take Steven. I tried everything, but Liam rode well and made it hard. To be honest, even if that wasn’t possible, the fact I was thinking it shows we are so much stronger than we have been. I got really close coming onto the Start/Finish Straight with two laps to go, but another red flag and the fun was over. Credit to Liam, he has really found the pace again this year and it was great trying to work him out.

“I feel like a weight has been lifted this weekend. I have now made the step with the bike that I have been looking for, putting me back in the race. I can’t tell you how happy I am and how much I enjoyed finally racing again. The earlier three rounds were tough to take, but we are on the way back now.

“Thank you so much to all my supporters and sponsors for not giving up on me.

“Next up: my local, Cadwell Park. I can’t wait.â€

Autoworks Motorsport is competing in the Iberian Supercars Endurance Series

The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Frenos (Spain)-supported Autoworks Motorsport race team has achieved much success in recent years, piloting ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ-equipped race cars in the Iberian Supercars Endurance Series.

Since the second half of 2025, the outfit has been elevated to the GT4 Bronze class thanks to the acquisition of a G82 BMW M4 GT4 – complete in the long-standing ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing livery.

This car has been sporting ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance race pads, giving the team the edge when it comes to stopping power.

We most recently caught up with Autoworks Motorsport off the back of their debutant race for 2026 at the famous Portimão Circuit, where great promise was shown across the weekend despite many setbacks.

Read how it all panned out in their own words below…

“Autoworks Motorsport closes the first round of the Iberian Supercars at the Algarve International Circuit with a bittersweet taste. The weekend demonstrated the excellent technical level of the Madrid structure and the incredibly fast race pace of its driver duo, but the final results were overshadowed by the harshness on track.

“The weekend began with very positive feelings in the qualifying sessions, where the tremendous equality and great form of the drivers from the Madrid structure were evident.”

“Héctor Hernández and Borja Hormigos drove to the limit, stopping the clock with a minimal difference of just one tenth of a second in favour of Héctor. This consistency in times demonstrated the rapid adaptation of both to the latest evolution of the BMW M4 GT4 (G82) and gave the team excellent starting positions for the official races. In the first race of the weekend, the team started from fourth position in the GT4 Bronze category, while in the second race they managed to secure a stellar second position.

“However, luck did not accompany them in both races when they were running in podium positions. In the first race, a heavy hit delivered by the same rival relegated the team to fifth final position, a result that did not do justice to the real pace on track. The story repeated itself almost identically in the second leg. A new impact by the same opponent left the vehicle severely damaged, forcing a retirement and depriving the car of crossing the finish line.”

“Despite the double material blow, the balance of the structure is positive professionally. The pure performance of the car, the race pace, and the flawless work of the young technical specialists and technological partners (ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ racing and ELF Lubricants) proved that the project has plenty of speed to fight for the GT4 Bronze championship.”

“Qualifying showed that Borja and I are running the same times and that the car is fast,” says Héctor Hernández. “The race pace was spectacular and that is the positive takeaway. We know we have the speed and that the team worked at two hundred percent, but it is a shame that external factors leave us without the points we deserved.”

“It makes us very angry to finish like this because starting second in race two, the podium was within our reach,” declares Borja Hormigos. “In the second leg, the hit forced us to retire. Now it is time to change the mindset immediately; we had to experience the bitter side of racing and now we have to pull together to leave the car perfect.”

“The logistics team is already on its way back to the Autoworks Motorsport facilities. The technical staff will focus all their efforts starting today on evaluating the structural damage and proceeding with the urgent repair of the BMW M4 GT4, with the aim of arriving in full condition for the most important event of the year in front of their fans.

“The second round of the Supercars Endurance season will be held at the Circuito de Madrid Jarama-RACE. The event will score points solely for the Spanish Supercars Championship and promises to bring together a high-level grid once again on a circuit with a unique history in Iberian motorsport.”

Scott Stone uses ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ components on his Yamaha R1

Retford-based Scott Stone is competing in No Limits Racing’s Pirelli Super Series 1000 Power Trophy in 2026 on his Yamaha R1, continually finding himself at the sharp end of the grid.

Stone relies on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’ GPFAX (front axle) and Double-H Sintered (rear axle) brake pads to help giving him a fighting chance of achieving some of some of the fastest lap times.

After more podiums and PBs at Cadwell Park, Stone’s next outing took him to Croft Circuit, where a rollercoaster of a weekend saw him leave with mixed results.

Read how the weekend went in Stone’s own words below…

Test Day

“Very windy, but I enjoyed the day. It was fun getting to grips with the Croft track – one I don’t go to that often. Had a few brake and data issues to sort, which was annoying, but by the last session I was happy running in the 1:25s.â€

Qualifying

“Nightmare! I normally try and go out towards the front, but I was mid-pack so backed off to find space. Every lap I caught riders which cost me valuable time. I was patient, but ran out of time and could only manage a 1:26.â€

Race 1

“Great start which was good. I needed it! So good in fact I was 7th in class by the end of Lap 1. Ran consistent mid-1:25s to finish P10 and 7th in class and managed to hold on with Wilf Turner, Paul Charman and Jennings behind me.

“I was happy with the result from where I started, but it didn’t feel easy. I knew the times were not enough for the next race so had to find precious seconds for that one.â€

Race 2

“An okay start from 14th on the grid and enjoyed a few passes in the early laps. It was fun racing behind Turner and Charman and running in the low 1:25s until Lap 6. First Wilf and then Paul put in 1:24s and I just couldn’t hold them. From Lap 8, it started to become hard work leading to arm pump so bad I had to do what I could just to bring it home. We were faster, but not lasting the race is not good.â€

Race 3

“We made some changes which felt good! I felt my body language was loads better and the bike handling felt easy. I passed Charman on Lap 2 and was looking at closing the gap to Turner, but for some reason by Lap 5 it became hard work. The arm pump, which I very rarely get, kicked in again. By Lap 7, I was done in and started to add a second a lap to drop right back.

“I feel I’m doing all the right things, but for one reason or another, I’m struggling to even run at the pace I was last year.Ìý I’m not far off, but it’s how hard it seems which is concerning me. I have some test time coming up and I’ll try get a better feeling on the bike and mentally to come back stronger for Brands Hatch in a few weeks.

“Once again, thank you so much to all the sponsors and supporters that make this ±è´Ç²õ²õ¾±²ú±ô±ð.â€

The NW Racing youth squad rely on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ components

Luca Wilkinson, Zack Weston, Craig Dance and Hudson Cooper of the NW Racing team are competing across BSB and its supporting championships for 2026, all proudly running ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s GPFAX sintered race brake pads and X-Series floating discs (front), with HH pads and Contour discs (rear).

Reigning champ Luca Wilkinson – aka ‘El Loco’ #76 – lines up on his Kawasaki ZX-4RR, with Zack Weston (#35) also on a ZX-4RR. Hudson Cooper (#27) is contesting his debut season in the Moto4 British Cup, while Craig Dance completes the line-up in the Twins class. The opening two rounds took the team to Cheshire’s Oulton Park and then to Donington Park – a testing start to the year, followed by a hugely encouraging fightback at Donington.

You can read more in the team’s own words below…

Luca Wilkinson aka El Loco #76

Round 1 – Oulton Park

“Friday practice was OK. I didn’t feel great in the new leathers and had a small issue with the electronics on the bike (quickshifter and blipper), but it was OK. In qualifying I only got two laps in as the clutch failed, so we qualified at the back of the grid.

“Race 1 – Great start from last up to 14th and trying to push forward, but the new leathers really caused me pain. I’d never had arm pump and it was the worst feeling. I eventually had to retire on lap seven as it was becoming dangerous. So disappointed, but the right decision.

“Race 2 – Starting from P14 I had another brilliant start up to P8, settled in and was battling for P9, but the engine started overheating and I eventually got meatballed (black and orange flag). A really disappointing weekend, but the team worked so hard and we’ve now resolved the mechanical issues that were causing the problems. Roll on Donington Park.â€

Round 2 – Donington Park

“Straight from my exams, it was a mad dash to get on track. Three laps to settle, then Nick pulled me in, told me what I needed to do, and I beat my previous PB by 2.1 seconds with a 1:41.9 to sit P9 by the end of the session. In qualifying I got onto the pace straight away and on my fourth flying lap went quicker still for a new PB of 1:40.8, putting me ninth on the grid. Really happy with a top-ten grid spot.

“Race 1 – A wet race! Not the best start as I spun up off the line, and on the first lap through Starkey’s a rider ahead lost the rear and sent me across the wet grass at 100mph – new underwear time! I jumped the access road and managed to rejoin just before Coppice, dead last. The safety car came out and caught the riders in front, so we lost the pack and I was 12.5s behind at the restart. I settled in, pushed as hard as I could, had a few little slides but brought it home in 9th, setting a time that put me on the front row in P2. Well pleased.

“Race 2 – I got a good start but Marley overtook, then up towards McLeans I dived up the inside of Ben to take P2, which I held until he got back past into the Esses. The first couple of laps we were all swapping positions, but with about five laps to go I got back into 2nd and tried to catch Marley. Unfortunately it started to rain slightly and I had a slide out of Melbourne which knocked my confidence, so I dropped back from the leading three. On the last lap Lewis came up my inside into Melbourne, then into Goddards I made a late dive up the inside and held it to the line, with Lewis only 0.01s behind. Very, very happy with the weekend and I can’t wait to go again at Knockhill.â€

Zack Weston – #35

Round 1 – Oulton Park

“Definitely not the weekend I thought it would be – a bit of bad luck with technical issues that made the bike really difficult to ride. I did what I could in the races and brought it home. Donington is next weekend so we go again there. Thank you to everyone who makes it ±è´Ç²õ²õ¾±²ú±ô±ð.â€

Round 2 – Donington Park

“Overall we made a good step with the bike. The team did an amazing job every session, solving technical issues and putting together set-ups. Qualifying wasn’t amazing as I couldn’t get into a rhythm, but I got stuck in during the race and moved forward. Race 2 started well and I was battling with a group of riders, but I struggled with rear grip in the latter stages. A massive thank you to the team for all their hard work this weekend. Roll on Knockhill, and thank you to everyone who makes it ±è´Ç²õ²õ¾±²ú±ô±ð.â€

Craig Dance

Round 1 – Oulton Park

“A difficult weekend getting used to the bike and bedding in all the new gear in FP1 and FP2. Qualifying was decent in P30. I had pace and felt confident, but something felt wrong with the bike as I was basically last in every speed trap, which is unusual for me – we’re looking into it.

“Race 1 – DNF. On lap one a rider ahead had an issue and unfortunately I was directly behind him. I just managed to swerve in time but still ripped my fairings off, which meant I was shown the meatball flag to retire the bike. Race 2 – P31. I definitely felt I could have done a lot better, but it is what it is and we roll on to Round 2. Thanks to the team for getting my bike ready and looking fresh, and thank you to my sponsors who make all this ±è´Ç²õ²õ¾±²ú±ô±ð.â€

Hudson Cooper – #27

Round 1 – Oulton Park

“The weekend at Oulton Park started on a very positive note as I continued to build confidence and pace in my debut season in the Moto4 British Cup. After running around the top ten in class throughout free practice, I qualified an impressive P7.

“In Race 1 I had a great start and was running competitively inside the top five. Unfortunately my race ended on the penultimate lap while running P5, after I lost the front through the dip in the chicane and crashed out of contention. I’d also like to apologise to Luke Fitchett, who hit my bike during the incident.

“During the crash I suffered a significant laceration to my neck after contact with the screen of the bike, as well as a knock to the head. The British Superbike Championship medical team were outstanding, providing exceptional care both at the circuit and during the assessments that followed. I was later diagnosed with concussion which, under championship regulations, ruled me out for 20 days – meaning I sadly missed Round 2 at Donington Park.

“While it was disappointing not to line up, the positives from Oulton Park far outweigh that. Qualifying P7 and battling with the front group for a top-five position showed the progress we’ve made and confirmed we have genuine top-ten pace in this highly competitive championship.

“I still attended Donington Park for Round 2 and took part in the Moto4 rider fitness test. It was great to support the NW Racing team all weekend, and I was also invited onto the BSB Radio commentary team for the Moto4 class, which was a great experience.

“My focus now turns to recovery. I’ll keep working on my fitness programme with my personal trainer at Storme CrossFit Ashby and come back stronger, fitter and even more motivated for the next round at Snetterton. A huge thank you to everyone who has messaged and offered support since the crash – it’s been massively appreciated. Thanks also to the entire NW Racing team, my chief mechanic Simon from Powertech UK, my sponsors, and everyone who continues to support me on this journey.â€

The whole team now looks ahead to the next rounds at Knockhill and Snetterton, with everyone at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ wishing Hudson a speedy recovery.

Following a podium finish at Grid Life Carolina, where he finished only behind another SR-21â„¢ for an ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ front-row lockout, Fortner came back fighting at the next round held at Atlanta’s iconic Michelin Road Raceway, where more podiums were clinched by both drivers.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“Going into this weekend, fresh off of a strong result at Gridlife Carolina coming in P2, I had so much confidence to give it my everything one of my all-time favourite tracks: Road Atlanta. To start out the weekend, I was met with some traffic during my flyers, so initially I wasn’t able to show what the true pace was. With this being a two-day, traditional time attack weekend with a limited schedule, the pressure was on to put together a perfect lap. On top of that, we had rain in the forecast for Sunday, potentially limiting us to only 3 dry sessions.”

“Road Atlanta is a very high-speed track, with the car hitting speeds of over 165 mph, putting the braking performance on centre stage. My SR-21â„¢s performed at their best, giving me the confidence to carry as much speed as possible into even the heaviest of braking zones, without a single ounce of hesitation, just full confidence. Ending the day on Saturday, I still never got a truly clean lap catching traffic on a track that is incredibly difficult to pass at, but even with this, I was able to put us into P3 going into Sunday.”

“Come Sunday morning, to my surprise, we had no rain! I knew exactly where I needed to find the time, and I did just that. Battling back and forth up until the last session, I ended the weekend in P2, with Eric Dewitt in P1, also on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵs! Just like Carolina, this was an ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Streetmod 1-2, and on top of that, in ClubTR, the entire podium was swept by ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ equipped cars! I couldn’t be prouder to show represent ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ in such a strong showing against such a strong field at one of the most difficult tracks in the world.â€

We caught up with Fortner following the Gridlife Carolina round, where he secured P2 in class, just behind another SR-21™-equipped driver, Eric ‘Dewey’ DeWitt.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“We ended up scoring P2 at Gridlife Carolina, and Dewey got P1 so we’re looking at an ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ front-row lockout!

“The first day, we battled the heat since temps were in the 90s, but on Sunday after putting in some sticker tires I was able to go 5 tenths faster than my previous personal best!”

“The SR-21™s felt incredible all weekend and I really had the confidence to push into the braking zones and trust the ABS when needed.

“Next up is Atlanta and I really think we’ve got a good shot at getting P1 there, it’s a track that really suits the Mercedes and personally a track that I’m very comfortable at.â€

With plenty of class podiums achieved across the 2025 season, we next caught up with Stone following his second race of 2026 at Derbyshire’s Donington Park, where promising results were achieved across the weekend.

Read how the race meeting unfolded in Stone’s own words below…

Test day

“Dry and sunny, though still quite cold. There was a lot of slow traffic to deal with most of the day, but managed to get laps in the 1 min 35secs. Was happy with my riding and the bike setup felt close, so was ready for qualifying.â€

Qualifying

“Qualified P11 and 8th in class with a 1:35.250 on new tyres. Had hoped for more, but was happy enough and felt I could be strong in the race.â€

Race 1

“Bit of a scrappy start again! From fourth row of the grid, if you don’t get away well, there is a lot of scrapping to do early doors, which breaks up the rhythm. Pace was good with low 1:34s and I felt good to the end, missing out on 8th place to Liam Murtagh by 0.065 of a second. A decent race, but felt I should’ve done more.â€

Race 2

“We analysed the data from Race 1 where the bike felt really good, but lacked a little rear grip. Made some changes and felt we had a bike I could really have a good go with. Got a mediocre start, but surprisingly, no one passed me into Turn 1, so got the hammer down. Went from 11th on the grid into P7 by the end of Lap 1 and held this position to Lap 5, running consistently low 1:34s. and keeping a gap to the busy pack behind me. Jack Morgan got past on Lap 5 and Jamie Boyce on Lap 6 before the latter slid off in front of me at Melbourne. Time to drop into the 33s. BUT after Lap 7 the rear grip went from perfect to non-existent. Wilf Turner overtook me on Lap 8 and it took a tremendous effort to control the rear whilst running in the mid to high 34s. and hold on to finish P8. First half of this race we were very strong. Shame about the rear tyre, but we learnt a lot and gave it a good go.â€

Race 3

“Combining my best sector times from Race 2 would show an Ideal lap time of 1:33.5. I felt, with good rear grip and some space, I could improve on that time and achieve a better finish. After speaking to James at No Limits Race Support, we made changes that I was desperate would make the difference.Ìý I could feel the potential if everything lined up.

“Race 2 lap time put me 11th on the grid, meaning a good start was paramount. Got boxed in as not aggressive enough and was right in the middle of where I don’t want to be. The early laps felt so slow and I felt, with some space, I could push on. Our seven-rider group was all split between 0.50s, so breaking out was easier said than done. Made some passes but lost them again as I just wasn’t aggressive enough. Then the Race was red flagged, reducing the planned 9 laps to a 4-lap sprint. Not ideal as I had to start from 11th again, and didn’t make the best of starts, got boxed in and found it hard to make passes stick. The 6-rider group was running with only 0.30s between them. The strangest thing, I did a new PB of 1.34s. and it honestly felt like a Sunday rideout. The tyre and grip were perfect, but I couldn’t get out of the busy pack. Finished 7th in class again; not the way I hoped for the weekend, but we kept it sunnyside, learnt a lot and came away with more confidence.â€

Stone relies on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’ GPFAX (front axle) and Double-H Sintered (rear axle) brake pads to help giving him a fighting chance of achieving some of the fastest lap times on the grid.

Following multiple podiums in 2025’s Premier 1000cc Championship, we caught up with Stone following the first 2026 round at Norfolk’s Snetterton Circuit

Test Days

“We had two test days for the first round which was good to give us extra time to get up to speed. I was happy on Day 1, but struggled with tyre wear and grip on Day 2 when the temperature dropped. I was a little worried on what my qualifying time might be after an average couple of days on the bike, so a quick call to Not So Fast was what I needed just to set the plan.”

Qualifying

“Bike felt great and on Lap 3 I managed 1:56.7, so pulled in to save tyre. This put me P6 in class taking the three BSB lads out of the numbers and, basically, leading my bunch. So, yes, happy. Best lap: 1:56.706 and 10th on grid.”

Race 1

“Didn’t get a great start and found myself in a close four-way battle for most of the race, which was fun. Had to make up some early ground to get there. Saw parts of the track where I could improve and was looking forward to a strong Race 2. Best lap: 1:56.340 and 10th in Class.”

Race 2

“Got a much better start, settled in and led the bunch (in P9) until Lap 5 when I started to drop back. I was running in the mid to low 56’s and knew I needed to drop into the 54/55’s to hold position. I wasn’t sure if the bike started to turn slower or I may have tried too hard to pull away, but it started to feel hard work. This was the hardest part of the weekend to accept as, with clear track ahead, I gave myself the opportunity to pull away, but wasn’t able to. I then got caught in an incident which put me on the grass and I lost the chance to hold onto the group. Brought it home P9 in Class with a slightly better lap time of 1:56.298.”

Race 3

“Made a few slight changes to the bike for Race 3, keen to run at the pace I felt possible if I could get to the front of the pack and find clear track. Another good start and made up some early places. However, a rider around me had multiple bike problems making it difficult and risky to pass. I had to take avoiding action, then trying to get away from the problem, made a mistake and ran on at the next hairpin, losing 5 places. Frustrated, I got back on track and recovered as many places as possible in the remaining laps. I managed to make my way back to P12 in Class. Lap 2 was my fastest lap of the weekend and, being 0.4 seconds below my PB set last year, it was a massive disappointment not to improve on that. Best lap: 1:55.973 and P12 in Class.

“In summary, I don’t think the feel I got from the bike was great, although I may have tried to override to compensate. We all know that does not work. I can be faster when things are right. It wasn’t all bad and there were lots of positives to take away from the meeting. Whilst my final placings don’t look spectacular, the 3 podium places were taken by the Tag Honda BSB riders in each race. Allowing for them, my places weren’t too shabby.

“Thank you to No Limits Racing and the marshals for a well very run meeting and a massive well done on the new YouTube channel. A great addition to club level racing.

“Thank you to every single person and sponsor that makes this ±è´Ç²õ²õ¾±²ú±ô±ð.â€

Dan Tiley and David Pesce run the endurance friction material in their Corvette

Vehicle dynamics engineers, Dan Tiley and David Pesce, currently race their 1991 Chevrolet Corvette under the ‘Eddie Vetter’ team in the US-based ChampCar endurance racing series.

This attainable-yet-demanding series sees 7+ hour races being held across North America each year – putting intense pressure on teams and cars.

With their previous go-to brake pad option being discontinued recently, Tiley and Pesce decided to test out ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ endurance brake pad at the final championship race of the season.

Despite limited testing time over the weekend, the team were delighted with the performance and longevity on offer, eventually winning the overall race and clinching the 2025 National Championship trophy.

You can hear how it all panned out in Tiley’s own words below…

“Our car is a 1991 Chevrolet Corvette, running under the team name ‘Eddie Vetter’. This car is the successor to our previous car, ‘Freddie Mercury’; a 1986 Mercury Capri. This car is raced by myself, Dan Tiley, and teammate David Pesce. David and I are both race car vehicle dynamics simulation engineers, primarily supporting our NASCAR efforts. David works for GM in their racing division, and, ironically, I work for Ford Racing.”

“Eddie Vetter is big, heavy and bleeds American muscle, so it needs all the help it can get in the braking department. We’ve a rival brake pad for years but can no longer get them. After watching Roy Dietsch’s videos highlighting SR-21â„¢ and SR-11â„¢s, we revamped our system solely for the purpose of using those pads. We had to change our calipers in order to accommodate them. The end result was a huge gain for us! We now get excellent modulation (better than the previous pads we used), the pads are easy on the rotors and we had very little pad wear after 12 hours of racing! We are not a professional racing team with a full pit crew, and simply aren’t able to change brake pads mid-race without losing significant time on track.”

“The first seven years of my career with Ford I was a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer working on future products like the Mustang and Lincoln LS.ÌýBrake development and brake feel ‘DNA’ was a key part of my job as part of that group, so I like to think that I have some reasonable background in the area of automotive brake feel and performance.

“Our first race with ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ pads was the Championship race recently. We knew it was a risk going to the Nationals with an untested brake system, AND test day was cancelled due to weather, but it paid off in spades! We won the overall race, and ultimately the 2025 National Championship on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ brake pads!”

“The previous pad manufacturer has left a huge hole in the endurance racing market with the lack of their components, which were unanimously accepted as the gold standard for performance and wear. ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ has set a new bar with their SR series of brake pads!

“Thanks again for producing a great product that we’ve so dearly needed!â€
