ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ sponsors the British Army Motorcycle Road Race Team (AMRRT)

The British Army Motorcycle Road Race Team (AMRRT) is an exclusive racing club for all Army, RAF and Navy personnel.

Formed in 2010, the AMRRT is one of the largest teams in the British Army Motorsports Association. It encompasses two road tacing disciplines – sprints and endurance – with 21 full-time and reserve riders, plus support crew for 2026.

As well as its own dedicated championship – the Inter Services Road Race Championship – AMRRT also supports entrants to other national series, not least the BSB, where three riders will be competing throughout the year.

WO2 Watts will return to the highly contested National Superstock 1000 category, whilst Sgt Thomas and LCpl Large-Taylor will compete in the ultra-competitive SuperSport 600 Cup onboard a Triumph 765 and Yamaha R9 respectively.

All three will be using ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s GPFAX pads and X/XC discs to help them achieve the best results across the season.

We caught up with the team off the back of the official BSB testing day at Derbyshire’s Donington Park. You can hear how it went in their own words below…

“WO1 Gav Watts and SSgt Stephen Thomas continued their preparations for the upcoming British Superbike (BSB) season by attending the Official BSB Test at Donington Park on 3–4 April. Cold temperatures and strong winds made for challenging running throughout the two days.”

“Watts, who will be competing in his second season in the National Superstock 1000 class aboard his Honda Fireblade, used the test to focus on development rather than outright lap time. Reflecting on the event, he said: “The conditions have been extremely challenging due to the cold temperatures and very high winds. We didn’t concentrate on an outright fast lap, instead focusing on understanding the new data software and experimenting with different electronic and geometry setups. Overall, I’m pleased with the two days and now look forward to the second test at Oulton Park in a few weeks’ time.â€

“Thomas, who will contest the ultra‑competitive Supersport Cup in 2026 on his Triumph 765RS, echoed the importance of the test. After 5–6 months off the bike, the focus was on rebuilding confidence and ensuring the package was working correctly. He commented: “This test was important to get reacquainted with the team and the bike. Lap times were down across all classes due to the wind and low temperatures, but it was good to get some solid laps in alongside the riders I’ll be racing against this year.â€

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing components were the product of choice for both BMW M3s featured in ’s latest ‘Build-Off’ YouTube video.

Alongside countless other modifications elsewhere, the first car utilises ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s acclaimed two-piece fully floating rotor upgrade and Redstuff brake pads all-round – a great choice for improved performance while retaining low brake dusts to protect the stunning aftermarket alloy wheels that were also installed at the same time.

The owner of this iconic Japanese sports car used Bluestuff NDX pads and two-piece floating discs

The owner of this Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-300 SST purchased the much-loved car a few months ago now, with the car coming equipped with some unknown plain discs and pads that were asking to be upgraded to match his fast-road driving style.

He soon found himself looking at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ products, soon snapping up some Bluestuff NDX brake pads and a set of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s two-piece fully-floating discs.

Running this brake setup for a few months, it seems that it was the perfect solution to help him enjoy driving his new rally-bred machine.

Read his thoughts on his own words below…

“Having installed late last year, I carried out some light bed-in/surface mating and no noise was present, and the initial bite straight out of the box seemed very good and a vast improvement over the OE pads that had been fitted previously.

“I carried out 250 miles of mainly B-road driving around the countryside with some dual carriageway and motorway usage also (wet and approx. 4°C). From my initial thoughts, it seemed as though very minimal bed-in was required.

“The cold bite and initial friction level was a vast improvement over my previous experiences with other brands, and on a car like the Evo, this Bluestuff NDX actually seemed to be better suited due to the higher temperature working range, friction level, and initial bite.”

“These pads also sustain a nice amount of modulation and fade resistance with a very progressive friction level during both low and high pressure stops. I was unable to get the pads to fade on the street and I feel that these will continue to work well as a fast street pad.

“Feel: as stated above, the modulation and consistent friction of the pad is confidence inspiring and they provide a very positive pedal feel.

“Noise: as of yet, I have not had any issues with noise or squealing, not from high speed nor low speed crawling.â€

Update

“Bluestuff NDX in the Evo were a great upgrade and I put approximately 2-3000 miles on them, they still felt nice and progressive with a good level of initial bite and no fade. Very little noise was present from the pads on both high and slow speed stops. I had a chance to pull the pads out to inspect and check for wear and the wear on the pads was minimal and they still look like new!

“I fitted these as a premium fast-road/track pad, and I wasn’t disappointed! The performance was great on the road and when being pushed hard, furthermore there is enough cold bite there for them to be useable on the street without the need to warm them up. All in all, I am a big fan of them, and I would personally say a huge improvement over my previous setup.

“I enjoyed my experience with the two-piece floating discs/rotors and Bluestuff NDX so much so, that I have since upgraded to a ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing 6-Piston Apollo Big Brake Kit with Bluestuff NDX pads fitted.â€

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Owner Tests ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing Components on Road and Track /race-motorsport-articles-cars/jeep-grand-cherokee-trackhawk-owner-tests-ebc-brakes-racing-components-on-road-and-track/ Fri, 03 Mar 2023 09:30:35 +0000 https://ebcbrakes.com/?p=32526 The post Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Owner Tests ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing Components on Road and Track appeared first on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ.

The braking components worked superbly on ultra-high performance SUV

With its 700bhp 6.2-litre supercharged V8 powerplant, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is one of the most formidable road-going vehicles money can buy.

The incredible performance on tap combined with the car’s significant kerb weight does mean that it requires nothing short of an exceptional braking system, however. Luckily, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing now offers a range of high-performance track/motorsport brake components for this vehicle (as well as the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat).

John here is one Trackhawk owner who was keen to test out these new components. A fan of spirited road driving as well as regular track days, he was interested in finding ways to bolster his braking system, opting to try ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’s RP-Xâ„¢ brake pads and two-piece fully-floating rotors.

Although he’s only tested them in cold winter road conditions so far, John is already very impressed with the setup. You can read his review in his own words below.

PLEASE NOTE: ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s RPâ„¢ brake pad range is not R90 homologated for the public roads in EU member states, but the material possesses excellent cold performance meaning that it can be safely used for driving on the roads where local laws permit.

“In a past life, I was a test engineer for Ford Motor Company, where I did engine dyno testing and test driving.

“I wanted to test some ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ products on my Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

“The two-piece rotors went on the same as the OEM products (the centre hole of the rotor fits nicely around the hub lip). The RP-X™ pads worked with the rotors right away with no binding or excess play.

“Although the roads around here are currently very cold, I managed to get a hundred miles’ testing in on this combination and was very pleasantly surprised how well it worked even in these conditions.”

“There was a little shudder at first, until the rotor’s protective coatings wore off, but after that, these pads exhibited very strong braking. I did not expect a track formulation to behave in this manner without getting some heat in the pad material! I was greatly relieved that they performed this well in the cold – better than stock even.

“I even had another driver put on about 50 miles when I was the passenger, and he was very impressed. There was absolutely no brake squeal or noise of any kind.

“I plan to add another hundred miles to this combination in the next week or so, also do some track sessions when the weather improves. On track, the plan is to run the RP-Xâ„¢ pads (front and rear) first for a full day of track testing, then replacing the front RP-Xâ„¢s with RP-1â„¢s for another day’s testing (looking to induce some oversteer/trailbraking). I will be thrilled if they perform as well in high-heat conditions as they have on the road!”

Fully-Floating 2-Piece Brake Rotors

High-performance pin-drive two-piece brake rotors, featuring a cast alloy friction rings, aerospace-grade aluminium bells, SD Driveâ„¢ bobbins and much more. Offering exceptional braking performance and heat management on road and track.

RP-1â„¢/RP-Xâ„¢ Track/Race Brake Pad Range

Following the hugely successful launch of RP-1â„¢, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing increases its motorsport brake pad range with the introduction of its latest ultra-high-performance track & race material, RP-Xâ„¢. Possessing a high friction level and a 100% brake effect from cold.
