The Brook-Built team relies on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads on their race bikes

Following a season in NLR’s SuperTwins in 2025, as well as various Manx/Isle of Man TT races, we previously caught up with Russell Brook and the Brook-Built racing team following their debutant race for 2026: the NLR 750km Endurance Race at Donington Park Circuit.

Since then, Brook and co have been back on the road racing scene, entering a classic Honda CB350 K4 in the Barry Sheene Classic at Oliver’s Mount and the Road Racing New Classic Solo. They were also back on the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ-Equipped Yamaha R6 for the Pub & Kitchens Twin race.

The outfit continues to use ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads during his competitive outings. You can read how the above races panned out in Russell’s own words below…

Barry Sheene Classic – Oliver’s Mount

“The Barry Sheene Classic at Oliver’s Mount provided another fantastic opportunity to race both the A Read Associates Ltd Honda CB350K4 and my own Brook Built Racing SuperTwin. Joining me for the weekend was Ben Long, competing aboard the Brook Built Racing Yamaha YZF-R6.

“We were treated to fantastic weather throughout the entire event, which is a rarity at Oliver’s Mount and made for excellent racing conditions all weekend.

“Practice began positively, with three laps completed on each bike to get settled into the demanding road circuit. Qualifying followed, with strong results across the board. The Brook Built Racing SuperTwin was qualified in 10th position, while the Honda CB350K4 secured second in class and was the leading 350cc machine on the grid. Ben also qualified successfully for the main 600 Supersport race on the Yamaha R6.â€

Road Racing New Classic Solo – Honda CB350K4

“Race 1 saw me make a good start and settle into second place early on. Maintaining a consistent pace throughout, I held the position all the way to the chequered flag.

“Race 2 was another strong outing. After another good start, I maintained solid pace throughout the race and was rewarded with the class victory.

“Race 3 proved to be another textbook race. A strong performance resulted in a second-place finish, which was enough to secure the overall New Classic Solo class victory for the weekend.â€

Pub & Kitchen Twins – Brook Built Racing SuperTwin

“Race 1 got underway with a good start, and after a competitive race I brought the bike home in 8th position.

“In Race 2, the start wasn’t quite as strong, but I settled into a solid rhythm and worked my way to an 11th-place finish.

“Race 3 was unfortunately less straightforward. I was boxed in approaching the first corner and lost several positions. The race was subsequently red-flagged, but while making my way back to the grid the bike cut out, preventing me from taking the restart and resulting in a non-start for the final race.â€

HM Civils Supersport – Yamaha YZF-R6

“My teammate, Ben Long, enjoyed a successful weekend aboard the Brook Built Racing Yamaha YZF-R6. Competing in the highly competitive HM Civils Supersport class, Ben continued to improve throughout the event, beating his previous best lap times around Oliver’s Mount. His efforts were rewarded with consistent finishes of 18th, 21st, and 19th in the three Supersport races, marking another positive step forward in his road racing development.â€

Thanks

“Both bikes performed faultlessly throughout the weekend, running and stopping perfectly with Aztec Oils Endurance 10W/50 engine oil and ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ GPFAX brake pads.

“A massive thank you goes to all of our sponsors and supporters who continue to make our racing possible. Your backing is greatly appreciated and plays a huge part in every result achieved on track.

“We now look forward to the next event and building on a successful weekend at The Southern 100.â€

Max Symonds uses ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs

Wiltshire-based motorcycle racer, Max Symonds has been competing in the British Superbike Championship’s National Superstock category for a number of years.

The rider, who alsoÌýwon Castle Combe Circuit’s NG Road Racing ‘King of Combe’ race in 2025, switched from his Yamaha R1 to a Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade last year, continuing to use this bike and its ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs setup for the 2026 season.

Following someÌýextensive testing at the start of the year across Europe and a guest race to warm himself up for the BSB season, we next caught up with Symonds after he’d completed the first two rounds of BSB at Oulton Park and Donington Park respectively.

Things were looking promising for the year ahead from the word go, until Symonds had an unfortunate fall on the third lap of the Donington Park race, causing injuries and putting him out of action for the next few rounds.

You can read all about it below in his own words…

“As always, the start of the BSB season was hectic!

“The level of competition in the BSB National Superstock class is incredibly high, with British Superbike race winners, Isle of Man TT winners, World Endurance riders, and leading British Superbike teams all on the grid. On top of this, there is always a wave of young, up-and-coming riders joining the class each season as they look to progress through the BSB paddock.

“This creates a field of more than 40 riders, all capable of setting extremely fast lap times. The gap between the very fastest riders and those towards the back is often only two to three seconds, meaning that even a minor mistake or slight lack of pace can cost multiple positions.

“In addition to this, the bikes are becoming more and more powerful. The top Superstock machines, BMW M 1000 RR and Honda Fireblade, produce over 220 bhp as standard. As a result, riders are often lapping only slightly slower than full spec Superbikes while having much less track time and far fewer race-specific parts.

“It’s a common view within UK paddocks is that the National Superstock Championship is one of the most competitive series in all of Europe because the field is so deep and the machinery is so evenly matched.â€

Oulton Park

“The first round was held at Oulton Park, which is considered one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar due to its steep elevation changes, blind corners, and narrow layout that leaves no room for error. This made for an especially demanding start to the season and despite improving my personal best from 2024 by a full second, I still wasn’t fast enough to challenge for points.â€

Donington Park

“Donington Park quickly followed for Round 2. This weekend brought a new challenge, with every type of weather imaginable being thrown at us: sunshine, cold and windy conditions, heavy rain, and damp, drying track conditions.

“I was able to make the most of the conditions whenever I was on track and secured a safe qualifying position just outside the top 20, with good pace and a realistic chance of fighting for points in the race.

“Unfortunately, on lap three, having just made a pass on another rider through the Esses, I entered the penultimate corner of the lap, the Melbourne Hairpin. Eager to stay ahead of the rider behind and challenge the group in front, I got on the throttle too aggressively and spun the rear tyre. The result was a massive highside that launched me into the air before slamming me back onto the track, ending my race just as it was getting started.

“I was fortunate not to be hit by any of the riders behind. Unfortunately, during the crash I hit my left leg hard on the ground, breaking both my ankle and leg in the process.

“After being assessed by the medical team at the circuit, I travelled back to my local hospital for surgery. The operation went well, and I am now focused on my recovery and getting back to full fitness as quickly as possible.â€

The Club Racer team uses a raft of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing components on their Mk5 VW Golf GTI

The Clubracer racing outfit – made up of drivers Henry Wright and Kevin Glover – has relied on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ components as it has made its way up the ranks through the MSVR Trackday Championship classes.

This all culminated in anÌýoutright championship win in 2025Ìý– a fantastic result for the team. Riding off this success, they’ve decided to move onto pastures new for the 2026 season, entering the 750MC Roadsports Championship in their modified Mk5 VW Golf GTI.

With a string of further upgrades applied over the winter, and retaining their winning Apollo Big Brake Kit/RP-Xâ„¢ brake pad setup, the team secured podium in their debutant 2026 round at Croft.

We next caught up with the driver duo following their third round on the mighty Silverstone GP course, where more podiums ensured they left the weekend leading their class.

Find out how it all panned out in their own words below…

“With the season nearing the half-way point, we headed toÌýthe home of the British GP for Round 3 at Silverstone. With the forecast looking to be red hot, and the entry list showing 62 cars, it was going to be a challenging weekend!

“Qualifying with a two-driver team is always going to be difficult, especially on the longer circuits as we effectively lose 7-8 mins of the 25-min session with an in-lap, driver change and out lap et cetera – let alone getting your eye in quickly to put in fast laps with 61 other cars contesting the same piece of tarmac! With that said, we managed to hustle the car to P7 in class which with no testing and a few new chassis updates we were happy it was a good place to start the race!”

“Having sat for 20 mins in full race gear in the baking heat in the holding area, the race rolling start was a bit of an odd event, as when starting 27th in a packed grid with a lot of TCR cars and higher horsepower Class A cars, you can’t actually see the starting lights due to the nature of the curved start/finish straight. So, the first lap was a case of consolidating position, staying out of trouble and picking a few slow starting cars off. The temperature in the cockpit by this point was already getting to uncomfortable with the ambient temp being nearly 30°C. Whilst the first half of the race continued, Henry managed to pass a couple fellow Class B runners and continue the slow but steady climb up the standings, helped by a few runners having heat related, and other issues. As it neared the end of the pitstop window, Henry managed to pick off the current class leader whilst battling through traffic heading down the Wellington straight promoting us to 4th in class. The next lap, Kev took the reins and set about consolidating the position with some high pressure from fellow Mk5 GTI driver, Josh Johnson. However, managing to complete the job allowing us to cross the line in 4th in class, just shy of the podium. A solid effort to make up 3 places from our qualifying position.”

“The post-race checks on 2 of the podium-finishing cars found them to be the wrong side of the regulations, one for weight infringement, one for ride height, thus promoting us to 2ndÌýin class! A welcome result with all the hard work going on in the background on performance a reliability. Needless to say, the 355mm 6-pot Apollo big brake kit equipped with RP-Xâ„¢ compound pads didn’t miss a beat, dealing with the hot temperatures, and giving high confidence from start to finish. We are also seeing impressive wear rates for both disc and pads given the harsh environment and relative heavy weight of the car. It’s nice to be able to largely forget about that factor as we know it ‘just works’! The rear setup utilising OEM equivalent Ultimax discs and pads is also surpassing expectations given the beating they receive!

“With our (so far) consistent results this year, and constant development with the car, we currently head into Round 4 at Anglesey at the end of June heading the Class leaderboard – a genuinely amazing place to be with it being our first campaign in the 750mc Roadsports formula. Hopefully the second half of the seasons continues in the same way!â€

Bobby Varey is competing in BSB’s ROKiT OFF BMW F 900 R Cup

Preston-based Bobby Varey is currently competing in BSB’s ROKiT OFF BMW F 900 R Cup, entrusting ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s GPFAX motorsport brake pads on his German race bike.

The latest round of the season to the one-make series to Derbyshire’s Donington Park, where a promising start ended in a dramatic off for Varey during Sunday’s racing action.

Read how it panned out in his own words…

“Friday started off strong with a P4 finish in Free Practice 1, followed by an even better result in Free Practice 2 where we secured Pole Position. Qualifying wrapped up the day with a P2 finish, just 0.07 seconds behind Nikki Coates, which placed us into Heat 2.”

“Saturday’s Heat Race 2 was a good race from start to finish coming out on Pole giving us confidence heading into Sunday’s main race. Drawing out the top 6 from each heat placing me 2nd on the grid for Sundays race.”

“Unfortunately, Sunday didn’t go as planned. During the warm up lap Scott Carson crashed at the bottom of Craner Curves directly in front of me, and despite my best efforts to avoid the incident, I sadly collided with him. This meant we were unfortunately unable to continue with the race.”

“A disappointing way to end the weekend after such a positive start, but we’ll regroup, rebuild, and come back stronger for the next round. Thank you to everyone for the continued support — it means a lot.

“Wishing Scott Carson a speedy recovery.”

The Spiceboy Racing trio rely on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’s components on their 600cc motorcycles

The SpiceBoy Racing team, comprising three riders, are competing in the Clubman 600 class of the NGRRC for the 2026 season.

Tim Petts, Jon Otter and Nev Otter all entrust ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ components on their array of 600cc Kawasaki and Triumph machines – including GPFAX front brake pads, Double-H sintered rear brake pads and XC-Series floating brake discs.

Following a successful 2025 campaign and promising first round at Brands Hatch, we next caught up with the trio fresh from the second round at Lincolnshire’s Cadwell Park.

Read all about it in their own words below…

“Spiceboy Racing took on a stacked Championship Clubman 600 grid at Cadwell Park for Round 2 of the NGRRC season, delivering a weekend of close racing, big personal improvements, and hard-fought battles across the field. While Tim Petts led the charge at the front of the midfield, Jon Otter showed clear progression and Nev Otter dug deep through a challenging weekend.â€

Qualifying – Saturday

“After splitting test duties, Jon Otter carried strong momentum into the weekend –Ìýconsistently improving on last year’s pace and banking PBs across sessions. Nev Otter, meanwhile, was left searching for answers, struggling to unlock pace – a theme that would continue.â€

Tim Petts (#27): P13 – 1:42.5 (PB)
Jon Otter (#103): P30 – 1:46.5
Nev Otter (#69): P34 – 1:47.6

“With a mixed grid across the team, all eyes turned to race day to see who could move forward.â€

Race One – Saturday

“Tim Petts launched straight into the fight at the sharp end of the midfield, getting a clean start and running with the front group before making decisive moves late on.â€

Tim Petts (#27): P9 – Top 10 finish | 1:41.3 (PB)

“Further back, Nev made early progress before a bold move into Mansfield didn’t quite come off, forcing him onto the grass and costing valuable ground.â€

Nev Otter (#69): P30

“Jon Otter focused on consistency, keeping things tidy and building a solid platform for the races ahead.â€

Jon Otter (#103): P32

Race Two – Sunday Morning

“Another strong launch from Tim saw him right in the mix again – this time even closer to the front.â€

Tim Petts (#27): P7 – 1:40.7 (PB, fastest lap of the weekend)

“Up to 6th into Turn 1 and running as high as 5th, Tim showed serious pace before arm pump set in late race. Even so, it was a standout result and a big step forward on the new bike.

“Behind, Nev absolutely rocketed off the line—gaining eight places on lap one—but couldn’t hold the momentum as the race unfolded.â€

Nev Otter (#69): P30

“Jon had a strong start but lost ground in the opening corners. From there, he regrouped and stayed right in the fight, finishing just behind Nev while setting a new personal best.â€

Jon Otter (#103): P31 – 1:45.5 (PB)

Race Three – Sunday Afternoon

“Starting P7, Tim dropped slightly at the start but stayed consistent, keeping himself firmly in the top 10 fight.â€

Tim Petts (#27): P10

“Further back, the father-son battle added extra spice. Jon had his sights set on finally getting one over Nev—but Nev had other ideas.â€

Nev Otter (#69): P19

“A much stronger ride saw Nev finally find some rhythm, charging up to 17th before just losing a couple of spots late on after a hard fight.â€

Jon Otter (#103): P25

“Jon delivered another solid performance, getting involved in multiple battles and coming out on top—continuing his steady progression and race craft development.â€

Weekend Summary

“A weekend of contrasts, but clear progress across the Spiceboy Racing team.

“Tim Petts led from the front with three top 10 finishes, the fastest lap of the weekend, and over 3 seconds improvement on last year’s pace—all while still adapting to his new machine.

“Jon Otter showed some of the biggest gains, consistently improving lap times and race craft, highlighted by multiple PBs and strong race consistency.

“Nev Otter endured a tougher weekend but showed resilience, with a strong recovery ride in Race Three proving the pace is still there when it clicks.â€

Tim Petts (#27):
“Mega weekend—really starting to click with the new weapon (aka Keith!). Big step forward in pace and great to be fighting at the front. Plenty more to come.â€

“With momentum building, valuable lessons learned, and pace improving across the board, Spiceboy Racing heads to the next round ready to push on.â€

Following someÌýextensive testing at the start of the year across Europe and an NG Road Racing outing at Brands Hatch earlier in the year, we next caught up with Symonds after a stint of testing and another NG Road Racing weekend across April.

Read how the month panned out in his own words below…

Snetterton Test Day

“We started the month with a test day at Snetterton – my first laps of the circuit on the Fireblade. The main aim was to establish a solid base setting on the bike and get back up to speed around the track having not raced here last year.

“Strict noise limits on the day, combined with some changeable weather, meant we didn’t get as much time on track as we’d have liked. However, as the conditions improved towards the end of the afternoon we managed to put some good laps together and came away with a good setting for the race event back here later in the year.â€

Cadwell Park – NG Road Racing Round 2

“After taking four wins and setting a new lap record at round one, we decided to enter the second event of the NG Road Racing Season at Cadwell Park.

“Saturday was a solid start, qualifying second in both the Powerbike and Open classes and taking a pair of second-place finishes in the races. Overnight, we made some changes to the bike set-up and I worked on a few adjustments to my riding style. This made big improvements for Sunday as we went on to take two wins after some really close races and fast, consistent lap times.â€

Oulton Park – BSB Pre-Season Test

“Our first official BSB event of the year. Two full days on track gave us the chance to run through a wide range of set-up options and really get the bike working the way we want it to.

“I was happy to put in a new personal best lap time and to be lapping with pretty consistent pace throughout. The test was a lot of hard work with a total of 90 laps logged over the two days which was all worth it as the bike is starting to feel exactly how I want it and we left Oulton Park with a big smile on our faces.â€

Donington Park – Test Day

“Having missed the official BSB test there earlier in the month, it was important to get some laps in round here ahead of the race later in the season.

“Cold temperatures and high winds made the morning session tricky, but as the weather improved through the afternoon I was able to put in some strong lap times. We finished the day happy with the progress made and confident going into the start of the BSB season.â€

The rider relies on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads on their race bikes

Following a season in NLR’s SuperTwins in 2025, as well as successes on the gruelling Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT races at the iconic Isle of Man mountain course, Russell Brook began his 2026 campaign by entering the NLR 750km Endurance Race at Donington Park Circuit.

Teaming up with Proudfoot Racing and entering in the National 600 Class for this race, Brook continued to use ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads on his Yamaha R6, achieving a class-podium finish.

You can read how it panned out in his own words below…

“This past weekend I joined ðð«ð¨ð®ððŸð¨ð¨ð ð‘ðšðœð¢ð§ð  for Round 2 of the ðð¨ ð‹ð¢ð¦ð¢ðð¬ ð‘ðšðœð¢ð§ð  ðŸ•ðŸ“ðŸŽð¤ð¦ ð„ð§ðð®ð«ðšð§ðœðž ð‚ð¡ðšð¦ð©ð¢ð¨ð§ð¬ð¡ð¢ð© ðšð ðƒð¨ð§ð¢ð§ð ðð¨ð§ ððšð«ð¤ ð†ð ðœið«ðœð®ð¢ð, teaming up with ð‰ð¨ð¬ð¡ ð©ð«ð¨ð®ððŸð¨ð¨ð and ð‰ð¨ðž ð„ð¥ð¥ð¢ð¬. At around five and a half hours long (or until the first bike completes 750km), it was a perfect opportunity to build race fitness, find some rhythm again, and get solid seat time. Huge thanks to the team for the invite and the trust they showed me—especially with ð‰ð¨ð¬ð¡ ðð«ð¨ð®ððŸð¨ð¨ðâ€™ð¬ ðœð«ðžð° ð¥ðžðšðð¢ð§ð  ðð¡ðž ððšðð¢ð¨ð§ðšð¥ ðŸ”ðŸŽðŸŽ ðœð¥ðšð¬ð¬ heading into the round.

“The conditions couldn’t have been better, with sunshine throughout the weekend. Qualifying went smoothly, landing us ðŸ“ðð¡ ð¢ð§ ðœð¥ðšð¬ð¬ ðšð§ð ðŸðŸ”ðð¡ ð¨ð¯ðžð«ðšð¥ð¥.

“The race itself had its challenges. A few red flags and safety car periods played against us, costing time as the field bunched up—but that’s endurance racing. Josh took the start, I handled the middle stints, and Joe closed out the race. Both Josh and Joe set an impressive pace, and I managed a couple of strong 40-minute sessions to support our charge. Thankfully, apart from the stoppages (and we hope everyone involved is okay), the event ran clean for us.

“After hours of consistent teamwork and focus, we crossed the line ðŸ‘ð«ð ð¢ð§ ðð¡ðž ððšðð¢ð¨ð§ðšð¥ ðŸ”ðŸŽðŸŽ ðœð¥ðšð¬ð¬ ðšð§ð ðŸðŸŽðð¡ ð¨ð¯ðžð«ðšð¥ð¥â€”a result the whole crew can be proud of. Endurance racing relies as much on those behind the wall as the riders themselves, so a massive thanks goes to Phil Proudfoot, Andy Read, and Nick Ellis for their sharp strategy, pit coordination, and relentless effort throughout the day.

“It’s been fantastic to race again alongside Josh and Joe, who have both progressed brilliantly into the BSB Sportbike Championship since we last shared a grid. Wishing them and the team the best of luck for Oulton Park BSB this coming weekend.

“Next up for me is Andy Read’s Honda K4 at Cadwell Park in May, followed by the Pre-TT Classic on the Billown Course.

“Finally, a huge thank-you to all our sponsors and supporters—your backing makes weekends like this possible.”

The driver duo uses a raft of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing components on their Mk5 VW Golf GTI

The Clubracer racing outfit – made up of drivers Henry Wright and Kevin Glover – has relied on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ components as it has made its way up the ranks through the MSVR Trackday Championship classes.

This all culminated in an outright championship win in 2025 – a fantastic result for the team. Riding off this success, they’ve decided to move onto pastures new for the 2026 season, entering the 750MC Roadsports Championship in their modified Mk5 VW Golf GTI.

With a string of further upgrades applied over the winter, and retaining their winning Apollo Big Brake Kit/RP-Xâ„¢ brake pad setup, the team approached the first round at Croft Circuit with an optimistic mindset.

Find out how it all panned out in their own words below…

“With the success of 2025 behind us, winning the MSVR Trackday Championship overall, we set our sights on a different goal for 2026: the Roadsports Championship hosted by 750MC would be where we plan to do battle. With a very similar format, but slightly higher power categories and faster pit stops, it sets a very different challenge.Ìý

“Over the winter, the car has received a slight power hike with a bigger turbo and supporting mods, along with some other minor upgrades. Rear brakes have been upgraded to factory Mk5 Golf R32 vented ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ plain discs, and Ultimax2 pads with slightly larger diameter; not necessarily for more brake force, but a more consistent temperature window, as the rears are worked quite hard with the OEM ABS system. This, matched with the now tried-and-tested ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Apollo 6 pot 355x32mm front big brake kit, and our ‘go-to’ RP-Xâ„¢ compound pads.”

“Round 1 was held at the Croft circuit near Darlington, with the weather looking to be mixed to say the least. Qualifying started in wet conditions. We readied the car with a known good wet setup and Kev rolled out to see where we were pace wise.

“Having no previous running against the new field of competitors (26 in our Class B!), it was a complete unknown at this stage. As Kev pulled in after his stint, we were sat in P2 initially – a great start! Henry jumped in for the final few laps with the track conditions improving quickly, but unfortunately a combination of traffic, an odd red flag due to a circuit electrical glitch, and various other racing driver excuses!, we ended the session in P5.

“Still a very respectable start to the campaign. It’s always been a bit of a disadvantage having 2 drivers in a sprint enduro format, as you lose half the session changing drivers and getting back up to speed, whilst single driver entrants keep lapping. Especially in changeable conditions.

Ìý“The new brake setup was proving a vast improvement in terms of feel and temperature consistency, so we were very happy with the confidence that was giving us in the bumpy braking zones.”

“The race was full of excitement, the weather constantly changing throughout. The rolling start went without issue and first five cars including us started to pull away from the remaining pack. With contact up ahead from a bold move into the Complex saw us take advantage and up to P3, using our normal measured approach. A lap later the leader went off going into the Complex too! P2.

“A few laps went by before the previous leading car of Packer was back on our rear bumper, he went through on the inside into the Complex, allowing all 3 leading cars to bunch up nicely heading down into Tower corner the following lap, where Packer re-took the lead. I ceased the opportunity to follow him through with a late brake manoeuvre both going past the leading Mk7 Golf back into P2.”

“On the way into the pits, a lapped Porsche Boxster held us up for half a lap, unfortunately meaning Kev came out the pits now in P4. Soon after Kev’s pit exit, there was a safety car due to a crashed Vauxhall Corsa, meaning it would be a 3-lap sprint to the end. The 3rdÌýplaced BMW Z4 seemed a long way ahead on the penultimate lap, with the added hassle of a lapped VW Scirocco in-between Kev and his target. A very committed move past the backmarker through the left hander of the Esses, subsequently forcing the BMW to out brake himself into Sunny-in. Kev lined up the move into the harpin after getting right up under the bumper through the Complex. taking the P3 spot!

“A podium first time out! Couldn’t be happier with that, especially with the quality of the machinery we were up against. The car was faultless through all the different conditions. Ultimate confidence on the middle pedal making the difference for us once again.ÌýÌý

“Next round – Brands Hatch GPÌýon May 3rd! Bring it on…â€

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ is an official partner of the GT Cup for the 2026 season

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing – the high-performance arm of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ – is an official partner of the GT Cup Championship for its 2026 season.

All cars on the GT Cup grid are sporting the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing logo on their door number boards, as well as appearing in other championship branding and literature.

Following the pre-season media day at Donington Park in March, the roadshow returned to the prestigious Derbyshire-based venue for Round 1 of the championship, where a gruelling 100-minute race under challenging conditions made for some exciting racing.

Read the full report below from the series…

“A day of mixed weather was no challenge for PB Racing with JMH’s Peter Erceg and Marcus Clutton, as they prevailed in a thrilling 100-minute battle at Donington Park over GT3 debutants Team BRIT.

“Qualifying on pole, it looked as though BRIT’s Jamie Falvey and Peter Fullick had put themselves in prime position for a brace of victories in their BMW M4 GT3. But pre-race rain threw a spanner in the works and changing strategies opened the door for experienced hands Erceg and Clutton to power ahead to Group GT3 and Overall glory.Ìý

“GTC was a thriller from the start, and it was JMH who walked away from the East Midlands with two wins for the team as Frank Morris and James Pickford powered to the Group win. SVG Motorsport took a double as Marc Elman and Cameron Pratt-Thompson snatched GTH, whilst a gamble to go on slicks before the competition gave Neil Wallace and Ian Astley the foundation to take GTA honours. Paul Bailey and David Brabham did a GTO double in their new Mercedes-AMG whip with SB Rce Engineering.â€

Qualifying

“Compared to Saturday’s greasy conditions, Sunday’s sunshine-soaked qualifying session was an opportunity for drivers to bolt on a set of Pirelli slick tyres and go flat out for 15 minutes.Ìý

“The first session resulted in a comprehensive GTH/GTA double for SVG Motorsport – but only just. In GTH, it appeared as though 24-7 Motorsport’s Charlie Benson had got the Group pole in his Ginetta G56 but Cameron Pratt-Thompson – in his own G56 – was on a charge, and reducing the deficit lap-on-lap. As the chequered flag came out, Pratt-Thompson reached his zenith – snatching pole by 0.031sec with a 1m33.509s effort.Ìý

“In GTA, Ian Astley got behind the wheel of the #24 BMW M4 and put his foot down. His first lap put him to the top of the group and he improved from there, finally settling on a 1m35.266sec to put himself ahead of the Raceworks Motorsport Ginetta of Daniel Quintero on the grid.Ìý

“Come the second session, there was no change in the intensity with GT3 and GTC machines mixing it at the top for the overall pole. The GT3s of Falvey and Erceg took turns swapping the top spot with the GTC Lamborghini Super Trofeo of Mike Taylor, every time logged resulting in a different car in the hot seat.Ìý

“But Round One winner Falvey continued his hot streak in the BMW M4 GT3 to take GT3 and Overall pole with a 1m26.950sec, two-tenths ahead of Taylor’s Triple M Motorsport Lamborghini which took GTC honours. Erceg took third, and a strong spot on the second row for the afternoon’s 100-minute encounter.Ìý

“Bailey rounded out the pole-sitters, as he continues to get to grips with his eye-catching Mercedes-AMG GT in Group GTO.â€

GT Cup 100

“The first 100-minute extravaganza of the season proved thrilling in more ways than one, as lunch-time rain drenched the circuit and meant wet tyres were the name of the game.ÌýOn the start, Falvey converted pole into an early lead, fending off pressure initially from Taylor – who made a lightning start in the Super Trofeo – and then Erceg, who quickly made the most of the changeable conditions in his Audi R8 LMS.

“Also making quick work of gaining places was Triple M Motorsport’s Rob Garofall who moved up from third to the lead of GTH as the race went green after starting under the safety car. With Erceg looking to pounce on any opportunities, Taylor couldn’t take too many risks or he’d risk losing his second overall.Ìý

“As the leaders started to pass traffic, the benefits of an increasingly dry line were negated by having to be careful getting themselves past.ÌýCome the stops, teams opted to play it safe except for SVG Motorsport, as Ian Astley elected to give it a go and as Neil Wallace brought the GTA BMW M4 GT4 in from second, wets were swapped for slicks and Astley went out to hunt down erstwhile leaders Raceworks Motorsport.

“For others, the choice to stick with what they had looked like it might go against them as the additional forecasted rain failed to materialise. Thankfully for them, a late safety car to recover a stranded car gave them the perfect opportunity to take a free stop and change onto the dry rubber.Ìý

“Taking over from Erceg, Marcus Clutton initially set blistering pace on increasingly overheating wets to overhaul the Team Brit crew, and once the safety car came back in he sprinted to the flag to take a first Group and Overall win of the season for the PB Racing with JMH team.”

“GTC proved thrilling to the end, as positions kept changing throughout. Making the most of trials and tribulations for their competition, JMH scored a double Group victory as Frank Morris and James Pickford bested fellow Lamborghini duo Taylor and Charlie Digby. Jack Gadd and Dan Brown kept up their strong start to the season for DWG Motorsport with Topcats as they completed an all-Super Trofeo podium.Ìý

“Sticking to the plan benefitted SVG Motorsport as the team picked up a pair of wins in both GTH and GTA. The former proved captivating throughout, with Marc Elman and Cameron Pratt-Thompson ending in the hot seat as the music stopped. The Ginetta racers finished ahead of Jolt Racing, John Ingram and Rupert Williams picking up another podium finish on their return to GT Cup. 24-7 Motorsport’s Ben Taylor and Charlie Benson rounded out the GTH top three.

“In GTA, Astley’s call to go onto slick at the mandatory pitstop proved race-winning. Getting up to speed quickly, they pipped Raceworks’ Andrew Perry and Daniel Quintero to take the win.ÌýGTO honours went the way of Paul Bailey and David Brabham – the latter extracting every ounce of speed possible out of their Mercedes-AMG GT to finish fourth overall.â€

The Spiceboy Racing trio rely on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’s components on their 600cc motorcycles

The SpiceBoy Racing team, comprising three riders, are competing in the HM Racing Clubman 600 class of the NGRRC for the 2026 season.

Tim Petts, Jon Otter and Nev Otter all entrust ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ components on their array of 600cc Kawasaki and Triumph machines – including GPFAX front brake pads, Double-H sintered rear brake pads and XC-Series floating brake discs.

Following a successful 2025 campaign, we next caught up with the trio as they completed their first round of the season at Kent’s Brands Hatch circuit – a weekend that delivered great promise for the season ahead.

Read all about it in their own words below…

“Spiceboy Racing kicked off its 2026 campaign at Brands Hatch Indy for Round 15 of the North Gloucester Road Racing Club (NGRRC) championship, delivering a weekend of close racing, consistent progress, and multiple personal best performances in a highly competitive Clubman 600 field of 37 riders.â€

Qualifying – Saturday Morning

In dry and sunny conditions, all three Spiceboy Racing riders secured solid grid positions in a tightly packed field:

  • Nev Otter (#69): P17
  • Tim Petts (#27): P18
  • Jon Otter (#103): P29

With minimal lap time differences across the grid, the stage was set for a closely contested weekend.

Race One – Saturday Afternoon

The opening race of the season saw Spiceboy Racing teammates Nev Otter and Tim Petts immediately resume their close on-track battles. The pair fought throughout the race, with the outcome decided only on the final corner.

  • Nev Otter (#69): P13

Jon Otter delivered a strong and confident performance, gaining five positions and showing a marked improvement in pace:

  • Jon Otter (#103): P24 (+5 positions)

Race Two – Sunday Morning

  • Tim Petts (#27): P14 (from P11), setting a new personal best lap time
  • Nev Otter (#69): Finished close behind in another competitive showing
  • Jon Otter (#103): P25 (from P24), continuing to build consistency and racecraft

Race Three – Sunday Afternoon

The final race of the weekend saw further progress across the Spiceboy Racing team, with all riders delivering strong performances.

  • Nev Otter (#69): P12, achieving a new personal best
  • Tim Petts (#27): P13, maintaining consistent front-midfield pace
  • Jon Otter (#103): P22, recording a standout personal best lap over 2.5 seconds quicker than his previous best at Brands Hatch

Weekend Summary

“Spiceboy Racing leaves Brands Hatch with a highly encouraging start to the 2026 season. Competing in a large and competitive field, all three riders demonstrated consistent pace, race-long battles, and clear progression across the weekend.

“Tim Petts impressed with a near top-10 finish and strong adaptation to his new bike, while Nev Otter delivered consistent results and secured a personal best in the final race. Jon Otter showed significant development, gaining positions and achieving substantial improvements in lap times.â€

Nev Otter added: “A really strong weekend for the team. The competition was tough, but we did ourselves proud—three riders, three PBs, and plenty of close racing. All the action is up on our YouTube channel.â€

“With multiple personal bests, strong midfield competitiveness, and valuable early-season momentum, Spiceboy Racing looks ahead to the next round with confidence.â€
