We show you the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ components that perfectly match your lifestyle

Welcome to ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’s ‘Suit Your Style’ blog series, where we match you up with the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ upgrades that complement particular driving requirements, ensuring you get the ideal components for your vehicle.

In today’s blog, we’re showcasing our range of tough and rugged brake pads built with heavy loads and towing in mind.

With heavier, more capable vehicles, it’s crucial to ensure your stopping power is up to standards, and luckily, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ has a range of pad upgrades that revolve around this ever-growing market.

Below are our top picks for towing/4x4s/trucks and the demanding lifestyles that come with them…

Extra Duty ED+

Brake pads for light trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs. These pads are super grippy, high-friction, and designed for the extra braking demands of towing, heavy loads, or trucks with lifted suspension and oversized tyres and wheels, where a standard ‘stock’ brake system can’t cope.

ED+ pads offer medium-plus lifetime, but what these drivers really want is fabulous brakes with stopping power that keeps them safe, and they’re not concerned about changing pads every 7–12,000 miles.

Greenstuff Elite

DP6000 Elite-series green pads from ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ are superb premium pads for SUVs and light trucks. They not only replace but also upgrade your stock pads, providing a more grippy, silent, smooth, and long-lasting brake setup. Carrying the prestigious Leaf Mark with the highest N rating, recognised for its superior environmental safety.

Yellowstuff

The first in a new range of ‘hybrid’ materials that can be safely and legally used on the world’s roads (being R90 approved), Yellowstuff is a high-friction, high-capability upgrade pad for various road and occassional track applications.

With its impressively broad skill set, Yellowstuff has been the flagship pad by ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ for over a decade and gives instant brake response, great feel and modulations with silky-smooth noise-free braking and was also improved in 2021 to be copper free and conform to all new legislations for the environment.

Expect strong, stable friction once bedded-in and very minimal rotor damage, whether used on road or track.

Bluestuff

A great all-round sport and race pad – just as comfortable on track as it is performing daily driving duties.

Bluestuff material exhibits a 0.52μ stable friction once bedded, stable up to a slightly higher 550℃/1000℃ than its sister compound Yellowstuff but with the benefit of a 30% longer lifespan.

New formula is copper free to conform to upcoming environmental legislations.

High-performance road/track components now available for duo of ultra-powerful SUVs

The new wave of super-sports SUVs are undoubtedly some of the most capable road-going vehicles on the planet, offering the perfect combination of blistering performance and supreme comfort in an effortless package.

This prestige and capability tends to come with a hefty kerb weight, however, meaning the braking systems on these cars needs to be nothing short of top-notch.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing is pleased to announce the launch of its acclaimed two-piece fully-floating brake rotors for the front axles of the much-loved Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat – an ideal bolt-on upgrade to help improve the stopping power of these machines.

The 400x36mm rotor can be bolted directly on to the front axle of these vehicles, offering impressive braking performance and longevity, especially when driven hard on road and track.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing Fully Floating Two-Piece Discs

– ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’s 400x36mm two-piece fully floating rotors are a simple bolt-on upgrade that seamlessly replace the original brake rotors without vehicle modification.

– ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’s SG2F fully floating rotor allows the outer cast-iron friction ring to expand freely with temperature, totally eliminating rotor warping.

– Rotors are grooved unlike the original rotors which are perforated. This allows the pad to vent without the holes becoming epicentres for rotor cracking.

– Race-derived G3500-grade high-carbon cast iron is used for the friction rings. This high-quality metallurgy possesses greater crack resistance and an increased ability to conduct and then dissipate heat.

– Aluminium bells are machined from aerospace-grade aluminium and then hard anodised for longevity, whereas the stock brake rotors use uncoated cast aluminium bells.

– Cast iron friction rings feature 48 curved vanes and are handed for each side of the vehicle. This significantly improves the brake rotor’s ability to dissipate heat, increasing brake system endurance and prolonging the onset of brake fade.

– Bobbins are machined from stainless steel which cannot rust, ensuring the rotor continues to float freely throughout its entire life cycle on the vehicle, even on road cars.

– Spring clips ensure totally silent operation and eliminate off-brake rotor rattle.

– Friction rings can be replaced individually after they have become worn, allowing the

aluminium bell and stainless-steel bobbins to be re-used, leading to lower long-term operating costs.

– Now featuring the latest thermic black corrosion-resistant finish–the very latest in rust prevention.

The braking components worked superbly on ultra-high performance SUV

With its 700bhp 6.2-litre supercharged V8 powerplant, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is one of the most formidable road-going vehicles money can buy.

The incredible performance on tap combined with the car’s significant kerb weight does mean that it requires nothing short of an exceptional braking system, however. Luckily, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing now offers a range of high-performance track/motorsport brake components for this vehicle (as well as the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat).

John here is one Trackhawk owner who was keen to test out these new components. A fan of spirited road driving as well as regular track days, he was interested in finding ways to bolster his braking system, opting to try ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’s RP-Xâ„¢ brake pads and two-piece fully-floating rotors.

Although he’s only tested them in cold winter road conditions so far, John is already very impressed with the setup. You can read his review in his own words below.

PLEASE NOTE: ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing’s RPâ„¢ brake pad range is not R90 homologated for the public roads in EU member states, but the material possesses excellent cold performance meaning that it can be safely used for driving on the roads where local laws permit.

“In a past life, I was a test engineer for Ford Motor Company, where I did engine dyno testing and test driving.

“I wanted to test some ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ products on my Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

“The two-piece rotors went on the same as the OEM products (the centre hole of the rotor fits nicely around the hub lip). The RP-X™ pads worked with the rotors right away with no binding or excess play.

“Although the roads around here are currently very cold, I managed to get a hundred miles’ testing in on this combination and was very pleasantly surprised how well it worked even in these conditions.”

“There was a little shudder at first, until the rotor’s protective coatings wore off, but after that, these pads exhibited very strong braking. I did not expect a track formulation to behave in this manner without getting some heat in the pad material! I was greatly relieved that they performed this well in the cold – better than stock even.

“I even had another driver put on about 50 miles when I was the passenger, and he was very impressed. There was absolutely no brake squeal or noise of any kind.

“I plan to add another hundred miles to this combination in the next week or so, also do some track sessions when the weather improves. On track, the plan is to run the RP-Xâ„¢ pads (front and rear) first for a full day of track testing, then replacing the front RP-Xâ„¢s with RP-1â„¢s for another day’s testing (looking to induce some oversteer/trailbraking). I will be thrilled if they perform as well in high-heat conditions as they have on the road!”

Fully-Floating 2-Piece Brake Rotors

High-performance pin-drive two-piece brake rotors, featuring a cast alloy friction rings, aerospace-grade aluminium bells, SD Driveâ„¢ bobbins and much more. Offering exceptional braking performance and heat management on road and track.

RP-1â„¢/RP-Xâ„¢ Track/Race Brake Pad Range

Following the hugely successful launch of RP-1â„¢, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Racing increases its motorsport brake pad range with the introduction of its latest ultra-high-performance track & race material, RP-Xâ„¢. Possessing a high friction level and a 100% brake effect from cold.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ products were installed on Jen’s truck that enjoys both on- and off-road use in North Carolina, USA

North Carolina-based Jen has enjoyed her 2011 Jeep Liberty Renegade truck for a number of years now. Recently moving to North Carolina from the more urban Illinois saw a shift in driving styles from predominantly city cruising to more rural, off-road activities.

When it came to upgrading her braking system, Jen settled on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’ Greenstuff Elite pads and Plain Discs – both capable and tough for the varying terrain she now faces on a daily basis.

Jen’s thoughts on the products can be viewed below in her own words.

“Having purchased my Jeep Liberty Renegade a few years ago, I was really happy with my new truck. Having just got my licence, it was perfect for what I needed living around the Illinois area doing suburban street driving in and around the city.

“A few years down the line and I had moved from Illinois to the Outer Banks NC. Having had the truck almost two years now, I had got used to the braking system and how it felt.â€

“It was recommended by my local mechanic that I should have my pads and rotors changed, so before just getting them done I thought I would have a chat with my brother. He said that he only used ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ products on his vehicles and that I should look into the Greenstuff Elite series pads that are designed for trucks and SUVs, with some Plain Rotors as they would massively improve the overall efficiency and performance of the braking system and would be safer with the varying weather we have out here. He also mentioned these would perform well on and off road as I do enjoy driving on the beach over the dunes.

“I went ahead and looked into the products he suggested and got them on order. They were much better value than the other pads and rotors available for my truck; they were at my house within two days and I couldn’t wait to get them fitted. My brother was actually in town when they turned up, so he offered to fit them for me. They were fitted within a few hours and the fit of the parts was perfect with no need for any modification.

“So far, these brakes have felt perfect and definitely an upgrade over the original system fitted. You can instantly feel the improvement in both pedal feel and modulation, I have already taken these off-road on the very dusty sandy beaches of the Outer Banks, NC. They performed faultlessly through the sand and water. These will be really tested on the road when I take my car on a 6000-mile round trip to San Diego, California next week.â€

“I now understand why my brother insists upon using ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ on all of his vehicles and I will definitely be purchasing from ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ again as it has been a very good straightforward experience, along with exceptional customer service and great delivery times.

“Thank you ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ!â€
