Autoworks Motorsport is competing in the Iberian Supercars Endurance Series

The Ƶ Frenos (Spain)-supported Autoworks Motorsport race team has achieved much success in recent years, piloting Ƶ-equipped race cars in the Iberian Supercars Endurance Series.

Since the second half of 2025, the outfit has been elevated to the GT4 Bronze class thanks to the acquisition of a G82 BMW M4 GT4 – complete in the long-standing Ƶ Racing livery.

This car has been sporting Ƶ Racing’s SR-21™ sintered endurance race pads, giving the team the edge when it comes to stopping power.

We most recently caught up with Autoworks Motorsport off the back of their debutant race for 2026 at the famous Portimão Circuit, where great promise was shown across the weekend despite many setbacks.

Read how it all panned out in their own words below…

“Autoworks Motorsport closes the first round of the Iberian Supercars at the Algarve International Circuit with a bittersweet taste. The weekend demonstrated the excellent technical level of the Madrid structure and the incredibly fast race pace of its driver duo, but the final results were overshadowed by the harshness on track.

“The weekend began with very positive feelings in the qualifying sessions, where the tremendous equality and great form of the drivers from the Madrid structure were evident.”

“Héctor Hernández and Borja Hormigos drove to the limit, stopping the clock with a minimal difference of just one tenth of a second in favour of Héctor. This consistency in times demonstrated the rapid adaptation of both to the latest evolution of the BMW M4 GT4 (G82) and gave the team excellent starting positions for the official races. In the first race of the weekend, the team started from fourth position in the GT4 Bronze category, while in the second race they managed to secure a stellar second position.

“However, luck did not accompany them in both races when they were running in podium positions. In the first race, a heavy hit delivered by the same rival relegated the team to fifth final position, a result that did not do justice to the real pace on track. The story repeated itself almost identically in the second leg. A new impact by the same opponent left the vehicle severely damaged, forcing a retirement and depriving the car of crossing the finish line.”

“Despite the double material blow, the balance of the structure is positive professionally. The pure performance of the car, the race pace, and the flawless work of the young technical specialists and technological partners (Ƶ racing and ELF Lubricants) proved that the project has plenty of speed to fight for the GT4 Bronze championship.”

“Qualifying showed that Borja and I are running the same times and that the car is fast,” says Héctor Hernández. “The race pace was spectacular and that is the positive takeaway. We know we have the speed and that the team worked at two hundred percent, but it is a shame that external factors leave us without the points we deserved.”

“It makes us very angry to finish like this because starting second in race two, the podium was within our reach,” declares Borja Hormigos. “In the second leg, the hit forced us to retire. Now it is time to change the mindset immediately; we had to experience the bitter side of racing and now we have to pull together to leave the car perfect.”

“The logistics team is already on its way back to the Autoworks Motorsport facilities. The technical staff will focus all their efforts starting today on evaluating the structural damage and proceeding with the urgent repair of the BMW M4 GT4, with the aim of arriving in full condition for the most important event of the year in front of their fans.

“The second round of the Supercars Endurance season will be held at the Circuito de Madrid Jarama-RACE. The event will score points solely for the Spanish Supercars Championship and promises to bring together a high-level grid once again on a circuit with a unique history in Iberian motorsport.”

Autoworks Motorsport uses SR-21™ sintered brake pads on their new BMW M4 GT4

The Ƶ Frenos (Spain)-supported Autoworks Motorsport race team has achieved much success in recent years, piloting Ƶ-equipped race cars in the Iberian Supercars Endurance Series.

Most recently competing in the GTC class, the team are proud to unveil that they are now back in the GT4 Bronze category, thanks to the acquisition of a stunning G82 BMW M4 GT4 – complete in the team’s long-standing Ƶ Racing livery.

As always, the new BMW will proudly sport Ƶ Racing’s SR-21™ sintered endurance race pads, giving the team the edge when it comes to stopping power.

You can read about this new purchase, and the Autoworks Motorsport’s future plans with the car, in their own words below…

“After starting the season in the GTC category, Héctor Hernández and Borja Hormigos are switching to the BMW M4 GT4 (G82), returning to the GT4 Bronze category with the support of the Autoworks Motorsport team and sponsorship from Ƶ Spain.

“After finishing last season, team’s goal was to change car so that they could continue competing in GT4 Bronze, the category in which they achieved third place in the three championships that make up the Iberian Supercars Endurance. Initially, this was not possible, and the team participated in the first two rounds of the championship in the GTC category, but after the Jarama race, an unexpected change of direction allowed them to switch to a more modern and advanced vehicle, which also allowed them to return to the GT4 Bronze category.”

“The BMW M4 GT4 (G82) is the latest version of the competition model from BMW Motorsport and, compared to its predecessor, with which Hernández-Hormigos have competed for the last two seasons, incorporates major advances in electronics, traction control management, and ABS.”

“Taking this step has been a huge effort for the team, but we are very excited about the new car. With the livery, we wanted to pay tribute to our F82, the results of 2024, and our first year in GT4 Bronze. We now have a lot of work to do on the track and in the pits, but we will take advantage of the remaining races this season to prepare for 2026, where we hope to fight for the category,” commented Héctor and Borja.

“Ahead of the first race in Valencia this weekend, the action on the track will begin with free practice sessions scheduled for Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m. In the afternoon, the two qualifying sessions that will determine the starting grid are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (Q1) and 3:50 p.m. (Q2). Finally, the main event will take place on Sunday with two races. The first will start at 11:05 a.m., while the second will start at 4:05 p.m. All the action of the Iberian Supercars can be followed live on DAZN Spain and via streaming on the Supercars Endurance YouTube channel.”

The JuniorGP outfit are supported by Yamaha and Ƶ Frenos (Spain)

The Yamaha GV Racing outfit currently supports multiple motorcycle racers that are taking part in the Moto2 and Stock600 categories of FIM JuniorGP – the exciting series that spans Italy, Portgual and Spain.

Backed by Yamaha itself, as well as Ƶ Frenos (Spain), the team’s racers are proudly continuing to use Ƶ Racing’s GPFAX brake pads and X-Series floating discs for the season.

Following a spectacular outright 1-2 victory in the 2024 season, the team was back out in force as the 2025 season unfolded, achieving more wins at the most recent round at Motorland Aragón.

Read how the racing went down in the team’s own words below…

“GV Racing closes an intense week at Motorland with a Moto2 win and solid performance in Stock600.

“The GV Racing team completed an action-packed and exciting week at the Motorland Aragón track, the venue for the fourth round of the 2025 FIM JuniorGP. With practice sessions, qualifying, and two intense races on Sunday, the team’s results were more than positive: a Moto2 win, key points in Stock600, and the lead in the overall standings in the Stock category, as well as keeping us in the thick of the Moto2 title fight.”

Friday: First solid results in free practice

“Track activity kicked off on Friday with the first free practice sessions, where the GV RACING riders began setting the pace and working on their setup.

“In Moto2, Alberto Ferrández and Óscar Gutiérrez improved. Ferrández positioned himself among the fastest in the final sessions, while Gutiérrez worked intensively with the technical team to optimise his pace.

“In Stock600, Iker García remained in the top three throughout the day. Joan Santos and Blai Trias also showed competitive pace, while Nicholas Bevilacqua progressed session after session, focused on improving his feeling for Saturday.”

Saturday: Tough and Hard-Fought Qualifying

“Saturday produced very tight qualifying sessions. In Moto2, Ferrández went straight to Q2 (P7 in Practice) and achieved a competitive P6, while Gutiérrez won Q1 with a solid P1, although a subsequent penalty relegated him to P28 on the grid.

“In Stock600, Iker García was second in Q2, securing a spot on the front row. Joan Santos qualified P8, Blai Trias P12, and Bevilacqua, after qualifying in Q1, achieved P22.”

Sunday: Victory, Points, and an Intense Race

“The first Moto2 race brought great joy to the team with the victory of Alberto Ferrández, who perfectly managed the pace to win solo. In Race 2, Alberto earned a valuable P5 finish and remains in the thick of the championship fight, placing second in the overall standings.

“Óscar Gutiérrez, penalised on the grid, was unable to finish the first race (DNF), but managed to climb back to P14 in the second race, showing consistency and progress on the track.

“In Stock600, Iker García crossed the finish line in a hard-fought P5, consolidating his lead in the overall championship standings. Blai Trias finished in P9, demonstrating solidity in the race. Joan Santos and Nicholas Bevilacqua were unable to complete the race after being involved in incidents (DNF).”

Statement – Rafael García (Team Manager, GV RACING)

“It’s been a very full week. Since Friday, we’ve worked hard in every session, and that was reflected in the results. Alberto’s victory is a huge reward for the entire team. Óscar had a difficult weekend, but his attitude was top-notch. In Stock600, we were in contention with Iker and Blai, although we’re saddened by not being able to see Joan and Nicholas at the finish line. We’re leaving with the lead in Stock600, second in Moto2, and satisfied that all our work is paying off. Thanks to the entire team, our riders, and those who joined us at Motorland.”

The final race at Estoril played host to some incredible riding from the team

The Yamaha GV Racing outfit currently supports seven motorcycle racers that are taking part in the FIM JuniorGP – the exciting series that spans Italy, Portgual and Spain.

Backed by Yamaha itself, as well as Ƶ Frenos (Spain), the team’s racers are proudly using Ƶ Racing’s GPFAX brake pads and X-Series floating discs for the season.

The GV Racing riders have had great successes so far in their 2024 campaign, with the final race at Portugal’s Circuito do Estoril playing host to team rider Mario Mayor clinching the championship outright and teammate Lorenzo Dalla Porta taking the overall runner-up position.

Read how this unforgettable weekend went down in the team’s own words below…

“GV Racing is proud to announce an unprecedented achievement in its history: we have won the 2024 FIM JuniorGP STK class championship with our talented rider Mario Mayor and achieved runner-up position with Lorenzo Dalla Porta!

“This milestone not only represents a dream come true, but also the result of a joint effort involving the entire team, our riders, technicians and, of course, our sponsors, who have been a fundamental pillar in this success.”

“Mario Mayor has shown exceptional talent, combining speed, precision and maturity in every race, taking him to the top of the championship. For his part, Lorenzo Dalla Porta, with his experience and determination, secured a solid runner-up position, proving that GV Racing has one of the most powerful and competitive line-ups on the grid.

“In addition, we would like to highlight the outstanding performance of Alberto García Bascones, who participated as a wild card and achieved an impressive sixth position, making clear his potential and commitment in such a demanding category. Iker Garcia, starting from last place (due to a penalty after practice, having always been in the top 3), offered a demonstration of courage and skill by climbing the positions and finishing in a valuable tenth place. Finally, Nicholas Bevilacqua, facing a challenging race, finished in 22nd position, showing his fighting spirit until the very end.”

“This triumph is not only a victory for the team, but also a platform that reaffirms GV Racing’s commitment to continue innovating and competing at the highest level in motorcycling. Our ambition knows no bounds, and we are already working with our sights set on next season.

“To all our sponsors, collaborators and fans: THANK YOU! You are part of this success, and together we will continue to write even more exciting chapters in the history of GV Racing.

“See you in 2025 with more desire and speed than ever!”

Team Manager, Rafael Garcia: “This is an incredible moment for GV Racing. We have prepared intensively throughout the season and the results speak for themselves. Mario and Lorenzo have proven to be true champions on the track, but this success would not be possible without the unconditional support of our sponsors. Their trust has allowed us to invest in technology, development and talent, consolidating our position as a benchmark in the championship. Thanks to them, we have brought our colours to the podium time and again this year.”

The Ƶ-backed Autoworks Motorsport team uses SR-21 sintered brake pads on their BMW M4 GT4

In 2023, the Ƶ Frenos (Spain)-supported Autoworks Motorsport race team clinched gold in the TC class of both the Iberian Supercars Endurance Series and Portuguese Speed Championships, following a thrilling year of racing. Throughout this season, their BMW M240i race car was equipped with Ƶ Racing’s RP-X™ track motorsport brake pads.

For 2024, the outfit has upgraded to a BMW M4 GT4 race car, to put them in the GT4 category of the Supercars Endurance Series. In this car, they are running Ƶ Racing’s new SR-21™ sintered endurance race pads, to help handle the extra capabilities of their new car.

Following two rounds in Spain, where the team propelled themselves to the sharp end of the standings, the most recent round at Portugal’s Fernanda Pires da Silva race track saw the duo hit the podium once again, despite some hurdles to deal with across the weekend.

Read how it all panned out in the team’s words below…

“The Autoworks Motorsport team went from strength to strength at the Portuguese event, achieving a podium finish in the second race in the GT4 Bronze category of the Iberian Supercars Endurance, which took place this weekend at the Fernanda Pires da Silva race track in Estoril.

“The Iberian Supercars Endurance 2024 continued its season in Portugal, after the first two rounds in Spain, at the Autódromo Fernanda Pires da Silva de Estoril, a track that Héctor and Borja know from last year, although not the variant with the chicane, which was the official one during the competitions of this third round. These two slow corners played havoc with the traction of their BMW M4 GT4 and therefore hurt their lap times.

“Friday was entirely dedicated to free practice, while Saturday was all about official practice, with both Borja and Héctor failing to get their BMW M4 GT4 to the front of the grid, so they would have to come back in the race if they were to continue their run of podium finishes from Jerez and Jarama.”

“In the first race on Sunday, Borja started from sixth position and although he made a good start, a mistake put him back to his initial position, and after the pit stop it was impossible for Hector to get close to his rivals due to tyre degradation, but he kept the sixth position, and with it some valuable points for the championship.

“The second race was notable for a good start and first stint by Héctor, who left the car well positioned so that, after the pit stop, Borja took advantage to attack with everything he had and finish third in his category at the finish line.

“’We are very satisfied! Despite the fact that we were barely able to run in free practice due to several incidents on track, the team’s progress went from strength to strength throughout the weekend. On such a difficult track for our car and in front of many high-level rivals racing at home, achieving a third place in the GT4 Bronze category leaves us with a very good taste in our mouths’, commented Héctor and Borja.

“The fourth round of the Iberian Supercars Endurance returns to Spain after the summer period on 28-29 September at Ricardo Tormo race track in Valencia.”

Adrián Cabanillas and Rebeca Aramburu are competing in DriftSpain for the 2024 season

Ƶ is proud to support a large number of professional drifters across the globe in various series – many of which are performing at the very top of the grids they find themselves in.

For 2024, the company is supporting 16-year-old Adrián Cabanillas and Rebeca Aramburu as they compete in the fiercely fought DriftSpain series.

The duo, part of the Team Find4u, will pilot their E36 BMW at various circuits across Spain throughout the year. Their cars both boast Ƶ’s Bluestuff pads and GD discs on both front and rear axles.

Following an exciting first round at Jarama Circuit for Cabanillas, the team next headed to Circuito Miranda de Ebro for the second round of the series.

Read how they both got on in their team’s own words below…

“Last weekend saw Round 2 of the Spanish Drift Championship, DriftSpain, held at the Miranda de Ebro circuit.

“With an estimated attendance of 35,000 people over the weekend, we had the opportunity to share the latest advances and innovations of our brand with fans, while our sponsored drivers, Adrian Cabanillas and Rebeca Aramburu, showcased their skills behind the wheel in a thrilling competition.”

“An outstanding performance by our driver Adrian Cabanillas, driving one of the lowest-spec vehicles on the grid, ensured he reached the qualifying rounds, standing out as one of the favourites for the Spanish championship. His skill and control in every pass not only impressed the audience but also reaffirmed his potential to lead the competition.

“Rebeca Aramburu, debuting a new car, displayed her unique style and impeccable passes that captivated the spectators. However, she had to face several electronic issues with the vehicle, affecting her performance in the qualifying rounds. Despite her team’s hard work to resolve these problems, it was not enough to advance to the final battles.

“Her determination and competitive spirit were applauded by all present.

“We hope to continue the excitement at the next DriftSpain round, which will be held on 27-28 September at the Navarra Circuit. See you at the track!”

Read how it all panned out in the team’s own words below…

“The Yamaha GV Racing completed the fourth round of the FIM JuniorGP at the Autódromo Internacional Algarve in the STK ECH category with a bittersweet weekend.

“The Sweet Victory: Mario Mayor put in a stellar performance, finishing the race in an impressive second position. This result underlines the incredible ability and dedication of our driver, placing him in a prominent position in the championship. Additionally, Carter Brown, in his debut, showed his potential by finishing in seventeenth place, a promising start for the young talent.”

“Notable Performances: Joan Santos also performed well, finishing in ninth position, demonstrating the consistency and continued effort of our team. On the other hand, Daniel Brooks finished in nineteenth place, facing tough competition on the circuit.

“The Bitter Setback: However, the day was not without difficulties.

Following a strong start where two podiums were achieved, the roadshow most recently took the Autoworks Motorsport team over to Spain’s Circuito del Jarama, where some fantastic driving saw class wins and overall podiums secured.

Read how it all panned out in the team’s words below…

“Autoworks Motorsport team achieved two podiums in the GT4 Bronze category and an overall third position in the Supercars Endurance, which took place this weekend at Circuito del Jarama.

“Supercars Endurance, south European championship, continued its season in Spain after the inaugural event at the Ángel Nieto de Jerez circuit. This time around, it was held alongside the Jarama Classic event, whose popularity is recognised by the fans and the large number of people who came to the circuit throughout the weekend.

“Friday was entirely dedicated to free practice, while Saturday was all about official practice, with both Borja and Héctor finishing second on the grid in their BMW M4 GT4, with which they have barely done any pre-season testing.

“In the first race on Sunday, Borja started from sixth position and made a steady progression up to fourth

place, but after the pit stop Hector was unable to maintain his position due to tyre degradation from the high track temperatures that dominated Sunday’s race. However, the team’s efforts paid off, with a second place in class and valuable points for the championship.

“The second race was highlighted by a good start and first stint by Héctor, who left the car well positioned so that, after the stop, Borja took advantage of a safety car to recover the car and attack with all his strength to finish with the victory in his category and third in the overall classification.”

“’We are very happy! To get a victory and a second place in GT4 Bronze, as well as a third place overall after achieving the best comeback of the weekend is something we are very proud to do at our home track in front of our sponsors, family and friends. This result is the fruit of five years of hard work and we are very happy and excited’, commented Héctor and Borja.

“The Iberian Supercars Endurance action will continue on 13-14 July in Portugal at the legendary Estoril circuit, which will once again share the stage with classic car competitions under the banner of the Estoril Summer Festival.”
